Delivering the Light for Lightbox 2022

The dragon has arrived with her yearly gift… This is a commission for Lightbox Expo! If you go to Lightbox, you’ll be able to see it huge, in person, on the wall outside the panel rooms in the Conference Center building this year (and I’ll be at table 814!)

The story behind this piece is inspired by how I view Lightbox Expo. It’s a yearly gift of wisdom and knowledge — but once I have that gift, it still takes lots of time and effort on my part to apply that knowledge to my own art. So I represented that here with this glowing Lightbox gift, delivered straight from the dragon’s mouth, to the characters with their wheelbarrow as they prepare to trek that gift all the way back down the winding mountain. I can’t wait to be back at Lightbox in just under a month, to receive my own Lightbox gift of wisdom, and then hike it down my metaphorical mountain!!!
